9/15/2012 Light the Night RoadBlock Info

This is for the roadblock itself. The roadblock will be from 15:00 (3:00 pm to you civies) until dark on the 15th of September. The location is the intersection of Westport Rd & Hurstborune. Rally point is the parking lot of the krogers that is there. We will begin rallying up around 14:30 (2:30). This is very important, more important then the walk in oct. This is where we get collect the money. I need people here for this. If you have an approved costume, and have the time, even an hour, respond on here, let me know. The more money we collect, the more money for research to end Cancer. I will be talking with the mando's to see if we can get some of them there as well. There is no such thing as having too many people for this roadblock. If a 100 of you guys show up, I will find a way to use you.

Bumping this. I still need more people! Noc, are you and Estreya going to be able to do this? Becka has just found out she has to work on the 15th. Even with her being there, i would need a few more people. Without her, I need at least 3 or 4 confirmed. Otherwise, I will have to cancel the roadblock, and maybe our participation in the walk on the 6th of October, since it would not be right for us to be in a charity event if we have not done our part.

Lord Deamonicus, did you contact the local Mercs? I haven't heard anything about this from their Alor'ad Dar Kyram.

Still can't confirm but will try. Had a pipe in the front yard burst last night (at least it wasn't in the house) but they're gonna have to dig up the yard. Not sure what the timetable will be over the next few days.

Oh no Mika, I hope they get it repaired for you soon. Those kinds of things can really be disruptive.

Spoke to Dar, he will be there, most likely so will his handler James. no idea if other members of the clan will be there.

Okay, wasn't great but not as bad as it could have been. They didn't have to dig up the sidewalk or anything. I'll be there.

Are we doing this in costume??

I will "not" be in costume. I can't... my skin and the sun don't mix. The last time I was out there in my costume, due to my skin having to be protected, I had to keep my cloak on and hood up.

I almost collapsed from the heat build up.

I'll go in my Dark Empire T-shirt and be the water girl. I'll fetch you guys some water and dump buckets into the main bucket and stuff like that.

@ Nocturnus: If at all possible, please be in costume. Estrya, I love you, but you may want to forgo the platform boots.

@ Zannah: okee-dokee.
For those in costume: remember, we will be walking up and down a road between cars. Costumes are awesome, but remember this: use common sense, if you trip and fall into an oncoming car, I will beat you.

Also, for those who will be working this:

Rally point: the Krogers parking lot, at the intersection.
Rally time:14:30
block time: 15:00 till three hours later or dark or so. i would like to be out there until at least 18:00, but i know that Zannah and Bane have plans that evening.

weather update:

We are looking at a high of 80, partly cloudy skies. this being the Ohio River Valley, that will change.

Vox I am also scared of the heat and I am like Zannah and can't be out in the sun too long with my skin.. I don't know.. Evan and I are thinking about doing the SRS thing... I guess we will find out tomorrow.

the money will be going to the bank to be counted on Monday. was going to count the bills myself, but happy to report that there were too many bills for me to count. We had alot of success today. every year we get more of us out there, and that means more money raised, which means we march ever closer to a cure. Most of you know, being a survivor, I have made it my mission in life to ending cancer.

I would like to send thinks to Bane, Zannah, JediMika, Mrs JediMika, my wife Mrs Vox, Estreya, Noctunrus, and Dar & Showtunes of the Blue Moon Clan for your help. I'd galdy go out there by myself to raise money, thank you for your help. <3

Had a great time raising money and hanging out with everyone. Really glad we could make it.

Glad to see everybody that showed up, it always makes for a better time when you have plenty of folks to lend a hand.

Yes I guess the kilts turned, ah! I mean did the trick (HA! HA! no pun intended), this year and who knows maybe more will be there next time, after all it's about finding the cure.
