Additional information or comments: The 442d Fighter Wing is the premier A-10 unit, which deploys Reservist fighter aircraft around the world. Most recently, the wing deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, where they supported troops overwhelmed by enemy fire. The A-10 provided superior fire power that enabled American forces to escape and return home safely. We would like to request the 501st Legion to make an appearance at the wing's Family Day event, April 12, which is an opportunity for Reservists to invite their families on base, so spouses and children can better understand the wing and meet other families that are often left behind when Airmen deploy.
