A Breif TDE History Empty A Breif TDE History

Post by Darth Kraven Wed Mar 17, 2010 4:52 pm

On April 03, 2007, TDE was born. It started out as an idea that I had while a member of the Jedi Assembly, so I got with another member of TJA and we started working out the details. About a month after that we designed the website and forums and started recruiting members. We quickly gained a fair number of members; some with costumes and some who were working on their costumes. In a short while we had 45 to 50 members and started promoting TDE at conventions.

Shortly after this I started restructoring TDE; thats when Lord Draconis took up the reins as XO and started helping me run the group. We soon got a new webmaster and he designed a new website and forums.

Those forums did not exist for very long, though, as I had to step down from my position of leadership due to a personal crisis, and people were not posting much in the forums. It was decided to close the forums at that point. However, TDE did not die! Lucky for everyone that another member was able to copy all of the stuff from the old forums and start a new set of forums and keep TDE alive until I returned.

After my few months leave of absense I returned 2009 and assumed my roll of CO once more and Lord Draconis came back as XO. Now we can move ahead really get TDE as a driving FORCE in the universe.

I remember how disappointed I was when the old forums closed, and my elation when I found them here last year. We certainly are growing fast, and I'm very glad to be a part of it. All we need to do is troop and show the galaxy who we are!

Indeed Lord Nocturnus. A "Force" indeed.

And Lord Nocturnus and I will be trooping in only less than a month Lord Bruticus. I think we are getting to the point, where we have enough of the new brotherhood scattered threw out the Galaxy, to have a face in the crowd, even if it is only one.... However, it takes "how many Jedi", to best even "ONE SITH"? Basketball LOL!

Great point, Zannah! I'm still flying solo here, in over-populated Southern California. Yet the Jedi costumers seem too bland when compared to the might of a custom Sith. LOL.

indeed a wise sith to save all that knowledge and pass it back to those so eager to learn it. yes the front lines, where mayhem longs to be... i shall be there soon, but it is a fools wish to leap headfirst without proper preperation. ..

just putting it out there... as an unofficial goal... lets get bigger than the force fx forums xD

So very true Lord Bruticus. One of the MANY aspects of the Dark Siders/Sith that attracted me to them was the uniqueness of the characters both canon and custom. When going to a convention we are usually the road less traveled as far as costuming is concerned. And when you come across a Sith or Dark Sider, after seeing so many bland Jedi, you are taken aback. affraid It gives me a strange pleasure when at a convention to have people do double takes when they see me or seem a little cautious around me. Not that I'm trying to frighten them away from talking to me,(in fact I love it when people approach me for pictures and the like, especially the kids) but costuming as a Sith tends to have that effect on people. I relish every minute of it too! Twisted Evil And thank you very much Lord Kolban for preserving our way.

You and I think alike, Nocturnus. I have had very similar experiences like you described, and I love every second of it. It's hard to make a unique Jedi outfit without having to explain what it is, but a custom Sith is always recongnizable. This is one area in the realm of Star Wars costuming that has had little organizational support - until now. For that, I thank Darth Kraven.

Thank you everyone. Embarassed I only wanted to save what I loved. Being the first Star Wars group to accept my costume and I hold TDE close to my heart. Both the Rebel Legion and Jedi Assembly denied my first concept for my Jedi. I was either missing the proper piece or having black in my costume. But, here it didn’t matter… I could be who I wanted. I’ve since then fixed the few pieces to be member of the RL. But sorry JA….. I love black and being part of the Dark Side now.

Although Lord Kraven is no longer with this group, he shall always be remembered as our founder. Now, our group's co-founder, Darth Draconis (aka Lord Draconis Knight-Star), has taken on the mantle of CO, affectionately referred to now as the TDE Emperor.

I have become, temporarily at least, in addition to PR Officer, the acting XO, dubbed at the recent council meeting as the "Emperor's Hand." Yippee!

A new Emperor's Hand will be forthcoming in a special election in the coming months.

It's for this reason that I choose here. I can see having strict standards when it comes to pre-order 66 era, the Jedi were pretty much told what to wear etc... so a uniformity occured. After Luke reformed it though, it took on a much more personal feel, each jedi had the traditional gard etc... but mostly they dresssed as they chose, ie: Corran Horn and his green robe, or his x-wing pilot suit, same with Jaina and her overalls. Yet they groups keep wanting to enforce the same brown robe, white tunic etc... rules. It's kinda dumb. Here I have more freedom to truly design my character from the story to the actualy costume and have pretty much free reign as long as it looks like it belongs in Star Wars.

I have Never had any Personal interaction with any Other BIG orginazations. i have really never had the Urdge to seek recognition from those groups. I Found My Home in Local Costume performing groups were creativity is encouraged. The Dark empire is My home and well ... Thats all I need.

It is best to encourage all fans of Star wars to embrace it .. to have a positive expirence and share with others in the SW universe to continue having a Cohesive relationship with all of them ..
