Orycon; November 2 to 4th 2012

There will be a Star Wars table at Orycon this year, and Outer Rim Birgade has said that TDE is always welcome!! I don't know all the details but will post them as I get them. I was interested in representing TDE at the table and was wondering if anyone else was interested?


There is a no mask -includes face covering helmets/no weapon clause in the lobby where the table will be; just as a heads up.

I'll be interested in going and helping man the Star Wars table, though there is a $30 entry fee for each day - apparently no price cuts for tables.

The no-helmet and no-weapon clause is annoying, but more so for 501st and the Mercs. I was told I could bring sabers as long as they stayed in the booth (display purposes).

I talked to Drago (Darth Seron here) of the Mercs today about it. He said they are planning on having the Merc flag and a few other items on display including helmets. 501st was going to bring a display or flag I believe. Not sure about ORB. Is there any way we could get a banner sent up this way? I've seen the custom ones for sale. I'd be willing to order one with the Coruscant Temple emblem on it if we don't already have one available. My question though, is will it arrive in time?

I have the Coruscant banner down here, I'll need it for LBCC in November (it's got a lot of loose PVC parts, etc - expensive to ship), which is also apparently the exact same weekend as OryCon! I'd recommend getting the custom banner from our Merchandise Officer, with the Coruscant Temple Logo added to it. It should ship relatively soon, if you order it in a timely manner. You'll also need to rig a way to hang it - I still need to do that with my banner.

The custom banners ship from Vista Print directly to you; RG is simply your banner designer in this case.

Looks like the Coruscant Temple will have two conventions going on at the same time within the same Temple. I think that's a first in this club!

We'll have ORB cards and their banner, Mercs cards and banner and hopefully TDE's banner behind our table. I've already got a stack of cards for each club plus some local 501st cards.

I'll be a Merc one day and my Sith the next. That's right..Sith! I'm burning the midnight oil to get my official membership before this event.

TDE is always welcome at all events we do up here btw.

I like the sound of that, pal! The Mercs, whom we regard as our sister club, and the other fan groups are all welcome to join us at any charity event we put on. I've got a great rapport down here, due in large part to our recurring orphanage troop. I can't WAIT to see stuff like that taking off in other corners of the Empire!
